These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Ostentio, the operator of ostentio.app. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Ostentio.
Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms and explains how we handle your personal information.
Ostentio is a public showcase and tracking tool for trading card and sports card collectors. You catalogue the cards you own, record what you believe they are worth, and share a single link to your collection.
Ostentio is not:
If you arrange a transaction with another collector after seeing their profile, that is entirely between the two of you. Ostentio is not a party to it, takes no responsibility for it, and cannot help if it goes wrong.
You must be at least 15 years old to use Ostentio. By creating an account you confirm that you are. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 15, we will close it and delete its contents.
You must also be legally able to enter this agreement, and not barred from using the service under Australian law or the law of your own country.
Your handle cannot be changed once you claim it. Choose carefully. Your handle is the address of your public profile, so allowing changes would break every link anyone had ever shared to your collection.
The only exception is the temporary placeholder handle assigned automatically when you sign up with Google or X before you have chosen one. You may claim a real handle once, in place of that placeholder. After that it is fixed.
Handles are provided to you for use on Ostentio; you do not own them. We may reclaim a handle that impersonates a person, brand or organisation, that is used in breach of these terms, or that belongs to an account we have terminated.
Ostentio exists to be seen. When you record a card, its title, set, category, grading details, value and photos become visible to anyone on the internet, including people who are not signed in and search engines that index the page.
Please think about what that means before you publish. A public collection can tell strangers what valuable items you own. That is the nature of a showcase, and it is your decision to make — but make it knowingly. Do not publish anything you would not want permanently visible, and consider leaving out anything you would rather not advertise.
Displaying your total collection value is off by default and entirely optional. Individual card values are public either way.
This one matters, so it is stated plainly. Every value shown on Ostentio was typed in by the user who owns that card. We do not source them from price guides, sales data or any market feed. We do not check them. We do not endorse them.
You agree to enter values honestly and in good faith. Deliberately inflating values to manipulate rankings or mislead other collectors is a breach of these terms.
You keep ownership of everything you upload — your photos, your descriptions, your bio. We do not claim to own them.
So that we can actually run the service, you grant Ostentio a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize and publicly display your content, for the purpose of operating and promoting Ostentio. This licence exists only so your collection can be shown on your public profile, on explore and search pages, and in previews when your profile is shared. It ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to the storage caveat noted in our Privacy Policy.
You promise that, for everything you upload:
Trading cards themselves carry artwork and trade marks owned by their publishers. Photographing a card you own to show your collection is ordinary collector practice, but you are responsible for your own use. If you are a rights holder and believe content on Ostentio infringes your rights, email us with the details and we will review it promptly.
Do not use Ostentio to:
We may remove content that breaches these rules, and we may restrict or close accounts that do.
The Ostentio name, logo, design, interface and underlying software are ours and are protected by intellectual property law. Using the service does not give you any right to copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from them, or to use our branding without written permission.
Ostentio is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we may need to take the service down for maintenance, upgrades or emergencies, sometimes without notice.
We may add, change or remove features as the product develops. If we plan to discontinue the service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your collection first.
Keep your own copies of photos that matter to you. Ostentio is a showcase, not a backup service.
You may stop using Ostentio at any time and delete your account from Settings → Delete account. Deletion removes your profile and your card records and is permanent — we cannot restore them.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that is used unlawfully, or where we reasonably believe continued access poses a risk to other users or to the service. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Serious breaches may result in immediate termination.
Except as set out below, Ostentio is provided "as is" and we make no warranties about it — including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, or that any information on it is accurate or complete. In particular, we make no warranty about user-entered card values, card authenticity, or the conduct of other users.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. If a consumer guarantee applies and we fail to meet it, and the failure does not amount to a major failure, our liability is limited — at our option — to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
Subject to section 13, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Ostentio is not liable for:
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims is limited to AUD $100, reflecting that Ostentio is currently provided free of charge.
You agree to indemnify Ostentio against claims brought by third parties arising from content you published, or from your breach of these terms or of the law.
We may update these terms as the service develops. The "last updated" date above shows the current version. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Ostentio after that means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, delete your account.
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You and Ostentio submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
